Brigitte Anna Maria Kathe Suppli (c1926-1971)

Brigitte married Geoffrey Peter Hateley Waddell on 6 November 1965 in Chelsea Register Office in London. She was 39 years old, a spinster, residing at 7 Old Church Street, Chelsea. Her father was Adolf Suppli, school headmaster. She died just six years later, of a brain tumour but not, apparently, in Great Britain.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might find her birth and death records?

born 1889 in Schillehnen, County Pillacken, East Prussia
Married Wilhelmine Baugirdis in 1921 in Kummetschen Prussia
Worked as a teacher in Ragnit, Groß Wersmeningken <Kreis Pillkallen>, Gurnen <Kreis Goldap>

Brigitte was most likely born somewhere in this area.

German privacy laws protect birth records for 110 years so if you find her place of birth, you will have to contact the local registry office

The only actual record I have is her marriage certificate. There are also some stories about her, but nothing to identify her parents or birthplace. I am hoping that one of her husband's cousins will be able to tell me where she died.

There seems to be quite a lot of information about location of East Prussian birth registers, but first I need to learn a bit about the geography of the area. So far I gather that Pillkallen is in the Kaliningrad Oblast, so it's now in Russia.

Any further pointers will be gratefully received. Fortunately I can read German and, with the aid of a dictionary, Russian.

I also have a Lehrer-Karte (Teachers card) for Adolph Suppli.

The calendar of probate gives her name as Anna Maria Kathe Brigitte Waddell, and her address is the address where her husband was living according to their marriage certificate. Thank you very much. I had searched using just B* for given name, and (naturally) drawn a blank.
