I am looking for any record, including death, for George Pannell Read (b. St. Peter's, Exeter 1840) after 1881. I have him with his family in the 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, and 1881 (9 Roebuck Place, Bath), living with wife and 6 children. I also have married to Sarah Augusta Cole at the Bath Register Office June 1866. He's also mentioned on his son, Henry John Pannel Read's birth certificate 1 Nov 1883 and on his daughter Georgina Augusta's marriage certificate, 7 Febr 1887, but there's no indication whether he is still alive. However, by 19 Oct 1887, Sarah has a daughter Annie fathered by Thomas Heviley and by the 1891C, Sarah & Thomas Heviley are apparently "married" (except that they are not, until 13 July 1915 in Liverpool) living at 7 Great Ann Street, Bristol with Henry John Pannel Read and Annie. As a postscript, Henry John Pannel Read changes his name by deed poll to Heviley, 16 June 1926.
So, my mystery is: what happened to George Pannell Read? Can anyone, please find a death, emigration, prison, or whatever, please? The fact that Sarah and Thomas did not marry until 1915 might suggest George Pannell was still around, but where?
