New Yahoo Mail -how to get rid of it! ****COMPLETED *********

The new version of Yahoo mail is driving me round-the -bend! . . mainly in composing emails - it "knows" that I want double spacing etc etc. I loathe it!
I'm reduced to doing everything in Word first, and copying/pasting . . even then it messes things up a bit.

I think I must have inadvertently clicked on something, having successfully avoided it for months.

How can I get my old email back?

-I eventually found the "settings" button hiding with the adverts on the extreme right of the toolbar.
-I clicked on it and got a menu, which included "switch back to classic mail"
-I clicked on that and got a pop-up window which allowed me -
 . . . 1) to say why I wanted to revert .. I told them!
 . . . 2) to click on "switch back to classic mail" I clicked on this

no change! the button in red above didn't seem to be clickable.

has anyone any bright ideas?

I hate it too, they changed me to it all of sudden.
I kept refusing to move to the new one,and then one time when I switched on there it was.

I'd be interested if anyone clever comes on here and knows how to switch back,although I fear this is what we're stuck with from now on

You could use another app for sending & receiving emails. I didn't like my provider(BT mail) so now use Mozilla Thunderbird. You don't need new addresses as it accesses your emails from your provider.

Just did some testing, to return to  classic mail, select in settings "switch back to classic mail" select a reason from the menu and then type anything in the text box , you should now be able to"switch back to classic mail".

I had clicked on a reason on try 1
I had clicked on the text-box on try 2
(didn't think of doing both!)

All working now as before - yippee

Now you are back,do you still get that irritating "try new mail" pop up ?
I have managed to resist clicking to try it !!!

How can that be stopped?
