Hi Emeltom and Daisy. Many thanks for the discussion, I will take your advice and get a copy of James and Minnies marriage certificate. Incidentally, James William was my great uncle, never met him but it,s all part of my family history. Mostly I've got back to pre 1800. Kind Regards.

Hi Emeltom. Re Minnie Hayson. Looked on the 1891 census, put in Charles Haysom, up he comes with Minnie Haysom at 9 years old. Also, when I went on the 1881 census he come up as Charles Haysone. So that's 3 ways of spelling his name!!!Regards

Hello again. Just received the copy of marriage certificate June 1921 2b 1006. It 's for a James Walter Williams age25 married to Minnie Elizabeth Hayson age 22. Not the right name for James or the ages. Also it names his father as James Walter Williams and her father as Samuel William Hayson. I shall have to look further.

Oh no, that's a shame.

From the tile of your post I think we are looking for James William WILLIAMS not Minnie Elizabeth HAYSOM.

Is he the James William WILLIAMS living with his parents James and Jane Margaret in 1911?  If so, do you find him anywhere after this?

Regards,
Daisy

Hi Daisypetal. Yes my great uncle. I haven't any later information on him after 1911 census. Maybe he wasn't married. Before I got the certificate Minnie seemed a good bet!!

Hi all Thanks for your help on this matter. Got a bit more info about James. Birthdate 26 March 1885, worked in Portsmouth dockyard 1899 to 1913. I'm pretty sure he died 1929 but was named as William Williams. I am going to close the topic.
