What is the connection of these names on a baptism record
« on: Sunday 01 April 18 17:51 BST (UK) »
I have turned up one of those records where you scratch your head because you know the names match your research individually but when on the same record don't gel.

Bottom line is who are the parents (their names) and the name of the child. How is Catherine named as the fourth person on the record related to the other three people. I've worded it thus so I don't put my interpretation ahead of an independent interpretation of what's going on here.

Top line is his name, father
next line mother
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Cheers for that Hallmark.  It makes sense in that Cata the sponsor had a relationship with this family...an intriguing relationship but there was a connection

Now it makes more sense. John Jnr had an illegitimate son Anthony. There were a few of them.
Cata the sponsor was in fact also a mother to at least two. Now it begins to fall into place
