Hi,

I think your thread should be moved to the main Australia board as your Gran married in NSW.

Do you have the details recorded on that registration?  It should include the info both gave about themselves and their origins and their parents too.

May I ask you to confirm that you know that your Gran's husband born c1923 is no longer living.   It is a no no to name living people on these threads which are easily found via Google searchings.

I can see that Ryerson index has a death for a Mavis Cause, age 91 in 2008, BUT I cannot find similar for a possible 1941 husband  (Is that your Mavis?).

He was imprisoned for 3 years in Qld in 1947, as per Trove.

In 1946, although the article says ‘Horton’ he is charged with theft - Lismore NSW - and has a ‘girlfriend’ who is keeping him.

In court in Sydney 1942.

One of the executors of the will for Vivian Stanley Cause who died in 1 November 1970, last column:

I was thinking not long after they got married she left him .
My mother was born in 1938
To someone else
She adopted my mother out as a baby .
Then in 1941 she married cause
If he was jailed for 3 years then she moved on
Because the next born was (john snook  not cause in 1943 he died age 71 in 2014 )
Sounds like cause was a troubled lad .

Yes and it appears that he spent most of his military time in the brig.
