Are you sure about the date of Joseph's death c.1978? This death is more likely -

Joseph D N Smith
Death Age - 66
Birth Date - abt 1902
Registration Date - Jun 1968
Registration district - Worth Valley
Inferred County - Yorkshire West Riding
Vol 2c Page 5

From 1930 to 1934 Lily and Joseph are living at 71 Bolton Road, Skipton.

In 1949 Joseph David Neil Smith and Lily Baden Smith are living at Highfield, Hawthorn Road, Bingley.

In 1962 they are still living at Highfield with their son who was born in 1934.

It would appear that Joseph added some names to those he was given  :)

Probate -

Joseph David Neil Smith of Hillside, Westwood Cres. Cottingley, Bingley died 8 May 1968. Effects £27052.

Lily Baden Smith of The Borrins, Station Road, Baildon, W Yorks died 19 May 1988.

I want to thank you both for your efforts and time spent re the Smith and Bland families not forgetting the Shuttleworth connection. I have been researching these families for at least five years with little discovered. Therefore my pleasure when you jjen and bumblebee have provided so much information. Stoop.
