Charles Edwin Willcox - bapt Oct 7, 1866
« on: Monday 02 April 18 23:50 BST (UK) »
Parents are John Willcox - born 1831 and Rebecca Neal
They have 7 sons but I am at this time interested in Charles Edwin.
I have been unable to discover what has happened to Charles.
He was baptized October 7th, 1866 Parish of Leamington Priors, county of Warwick
but there he is not on the 1881 Census, with the rest of his family.
I am looking for a death registration.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thank you.
WILLCOX - Warwick, Northamptonshire
NEAL - Southam
BANKS - Aston, Warwickshire, Stanley Hill, York
RIVERS, HART, GARNHAM - Warwickshire England
HEAD -Wandsworth
HAMBRIDGE - Wandsworth, Kingston-upon-Thames,  Putney (of particular interest is of a Hannah with address of Oil Mill Lane, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey in 1866)

Have you found the family in 1871 as you only mention the 1881 census?

Was he with them in 1871?

EDIT - he is aged 4 and with family in 1871.  Birthplace Leamington

By 1881 he was 14/15 so probably living/working elsewhere.  Surname is Wilcox in 1871

Sorry for my writing error.  I miswrote - "he is not there, on the 1881 census"
Yes, he is on the 1871 Census - aged 4
And on the 1881 Census, he is not listed, but the other 5 sons are.  The eldest son, Henry has moved out.
and on the 1911 Census, there are 5 children still living and 2 who have died.

Thanks for pointing out my error and for your assistance.
Sharon

I can’t see any obvious 1881 entry or a marriage/death.

I wonder if he became a mariner.  One of my ancestors was born 1858 but was not on the 1871 census.  I looked for a death without success then years later found he died in 1877 aged 19 in New York whilst working for Cunard
