Help with Latin Probate Document from 1576 please **COMPLETED*
« on: Wednesday 04 April 18 16:01 BST (UK) »
This is a Grant of Administration record for RICHARD BAXSHALL of Ardingly, Sussex, dated 15 Nov 1576.  I can see the names John, Richard and Jasper in the body of the text, would appreciate someone with a knowledge of Latin to translate the rest please.

Many thanks.

Karen

Administration of the goods of Richard Baxshall of Ardingley, deceased
On the first* day of November 1576 the Master granted administration of the goods of the said deceased to John Baxshall his brother, for the use and benefit of Richard and Jasper Baxhall his sons etc.; sworn in due form of law etc.; this administrator presented an inventory of the aforesaid goods totalling 24 pounds 5 shillings 3 farthings**

     * - as shown here, it is clearly primo die = first day (not the 15th)
     ** - at the end, ob(elus) q(uadran)s = halfpenny + farthing = 3 farthings

Thanks ever so much, Bookbox, for your prompt reply with the translation.  I've just realised that the date was actually my mistake, it was indexed as 1 Nov on the Record Office Catalogue, so thanks for the clarification.

Regards.
