This has taken me a while to fathom.
Sarah’s two daughters Gertrude and Elizabeth Jane, surname Rogers married two brothers.

Funeral notice for father Thomas, mentions sons but not Sarah:

Sarah died as 'Williams' the following year.
Looks like his wife Susannah is with him:

Added: I'm thinking that Sarah may not have been partnered with the elderly Thomas and that the reference to her as mother in her death notice could possibly have been due to the marriages to the daughters. Easier than saying mother and mother-in-law.

I think this is John's notices, as there is mention of Hawksbury River and I think it was mentioned in Sarah's notices, too. He is buried in the Catholic section Rookwood:
