What do you know already? Do you have his army discharge papers from FindMyPast? His first marriage, to Ellen Aird, in India in 1877 (recorded as McKuchen) ? His second marriage to Agnes Archibald Douglas in Dundee in 1895?

Father Robert McCutchen, police constable, mother Helen, maiden name unknown.

hello, I have Richard's military records but not his marriage registration in 1895.  I am really looking for information on his parents Robert and Helen.  That is where I have no information.

In Ireland Ellen is the more commonly used version of Helen  ;)
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Oddly, the 1877 marriage record does not show his father's name. Ellen Aird's father is recorded as Robert Aird. 

I can't see anything for a Robert McCutchen in Ancestry's RIC database.
