Elizabeth Pearce
« on: Friday 06 April 18 23:46 BST (UK) »
Hello all :-[ I have searched for Elizabeth Pearce for a long time and their is a lot of them, as she was the wife of the late Earl Pearce who died in 1795 in Bristol Pottery and ran the business. I found a record of them and family details and at last read that she died in 1831 8 years prior to her daughter (Hannah Chub) husband Henry Wildgoose died. Apparently her death was in a Almshouse Bristol Mercury in Avon Street which their son Colston Pearce was left when she passed on. :'( Therefore I don't know if she died by accident or was in a home owned by Colston Pearce. :-\ A death certificate might be the way to go :-[

If Elizabeth PEARCE died by 'accident' - then there would have been in Inquest and records should be available.

Elizabeth's burial in the 'Register' should give residence  - which may include an address.

? possible funeral reported in Local Newspapers

Hello solidrock, thanks for your help yes I have downloaded most of these records, the Pearce family is also connected to John Cantle who married Ann Maynard Pearce my ancestor also. So apparently Elizabeth died in a Almshouse what are they, like a nursing home perhaps?

An almshouse (also known as a poorhouse) is charitable housing provided to enable people (typically elderly people who can no longer work to earn enough to pay rent) to live in a particular community.

There was also riots in Bristol in 1831.
