Identifying modern day medals please
« on: Saturday 07 April 18 12:18 BST (UK) »
I'm normally asking for Family history information but today I need some help in identifying modern day medals....Thanks in anticipation

its the ribbon colours I am more interested in finding as I'm about to bake a cake for a modern day hero...  and I want to use the colours in the ribbons and in the correct sequence so I have to be accurate... I've tried looking online but having difficulty....

The first one is an OBE.

Thank you so much..

I have asked poster Hmac to look at this thread. If anyone can explain, he is your man.

Thank you everyone, this soldier will be 50 soon and I think he deserves a lot more than a cake, but then don't they all....

The website will be a big help....

From left to right they look like:
OBE
General Service Medal (1962 type)
?
Iraq Medal
?
QE2 Golden Jubilee Medal 2002
QE2 Diamond Jubilee Medal 2012
?

I'm not sure what the three ?s are yet - they might be United Nations issue - I'm still looking.

The last medal looks to me like the Accumulated Campaign service medal, Difficult to see the other 2 missing. Regards, morick
