Lambhill Cemetery Locating a grave
« on: Saturday 07 April 18 14:01 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help me.  I have researched a grave for my grandmother who is buried in Lambhill Cemetery, Glasgow.   The information I found in the Mitchell library states that she is buried in "Compartment 4", "Lair 61".

My first question-  Is "Compartment 4", the same as "Section 4"in the map of lambhill?

I visited the cemetery and walked this section without any success, however many stones were missing or toppled.   Is the numbering of lairs sequential? If so where would they start in this section.  I am looking for best way to locate the specific grave

many thanks

Bill

Hi Bill

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

A little info here www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=737559.0.

As suggested there, maybe contact the Cemetery Office? You have the burial references, you just now need a big arrow for directions!

From Anne's notes there, it seems likely that 'Compartment 4' is likely to be Section 4 as you thought. Similar reference to the attachment on the other post.
