But the transcription has a Sarah 'Stacey' c1781 with a William Stacey(Lacey).  Someone has entered a 'Correction'. ???

Inquest report, Reading Mercury 6 Nov 1847
Sudden Death.—On Tuesday, the 2nd instant, at the White Hart, Cookham, on the body of William Lacey, aged 75 years, baker and grocer.

also, 24 October 1846
Thomas Lloyd, 28, and William Lacey, an elderly man, were indicted for having, on the 2nd of April last, at Cookham, stolen a walnut tree, value 10/., the property of William Smith..
(case was stopped by the court)

William Lacey age 70 tried Berkshire 19 Oct 1846.  He was acquitted.

So this maybe the William Lacey you mention.?

See what you mean about the 1841 Census. The transcription of the version I looked at has him down as William Lacey, next person ??? Lacey, next person Harriet ??? born Berkshire 1826, Next person is male born Berkshire all other details are ???

For what it's worth, there's another William LACEY at Market Street, Cookham in 1841.  He's a harness maker, not born in county, aged 65-69, in a household with other surnames.

Witnesses - Joseph Claydon & Benjamin(x)Wallis 

Mary Ann Gomm dies and was buried 6 April 1870. Mary Ann GOMME aged 61 of Long Wick.(Princes Risborough).

I have all the details on Andrew Gomme, so no chase for him.

Marriage.
24 Sep 1831.  St Mary's, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire.

I photo shopped the 1841 census that is feint.  His trade is a shoemaker. So that's not him.

Ok.  I've looked at all the deaths in the Wycombe Dist, and eliminated the ones most likely for William Lacey, using age at death(GRO), and the Parish Records for Horsenden, Princes Risborough and Lacey Green.

Not sure where to look next, but I guess so much will remain a mystery.
