Fred was from Pontycymmer so Elizabeth may have been from near there and only travelled over to the Brecon area to marry - Brecon and Crickhowell both are army towns. Fred was serving in the 17th Welsh regiment (twice wounded by 1916 according to a newspaper report)

Waler Mallier on the other hand was from Talybont on Usk. He was in the South Wales Borderers

There's a possible marriage registered at Hay in dec qtr 1910 for John Havard with Emily Powell on the same page, here in 1911

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7JZ-PYT

She is possibly the Emily Powell b. Llanigon with grandparents Howell & Elizabeth Powell in 1901 RG13/5178 folio 15 pg 8 only the 1911 census puts her a little older. Baptism in Llanigon 14 Oct 1891 for Emily daughter of Ann Powell, single woman. Ann, daughter of Howell, marries John Thomas 25 Dec 1893 in Llanigon parish church, they are in Brecon in 1901, no Elizabeth Ann with them but she could be related to that family of Powells.

Hi, I believe that Ann and John Thomas had five children, Edgar 1894, Howell 1898, Frederick 1901, Gwladys 1904 and Ethel 1906 but no record of Elizabeth Ann.

I found a John Havard born 1859 who married a Mary Powell in 1877, they had a daughter Mary Anne Havard in 1879 whose second marriage was to Walter A G Mallier (mollier), presume they could be the two witnesses but have been unable to connect this family to Elizabeth Ann Powell.

I do appreciate your help and I am amazed that you have been able to come up with this information in such a short time.

I don't think the John Havard born 1859 is the witness to the 1918 marriage, signatures are not similar, that of the marriage witness is more loopy.

You can access the registers at FindMyPast and check the signatures on the 1911 census to be sure.

Going back to your original post where you say you would liek to find their burial place, have you also looked in Llantwit "Old Cemetery" (the St Illtyd's Church burial ground)?

Hi the link by Girlguide is not the correct Church ot town I'm afraid! You need maybe to contact the Swansea Archives regarding the Church which is in Neath. http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMP3JM_Saint_illtyd_Churchyard_Llantwit_juxta_Neath_Wales
I know the recods were avialable at the Vicarage in London Road at one time, but I'msure they may have printed copies in the arcives, or maybe teh GFHS has an index.
