Patrick Gearon & Mary Quinlan, London c1889
« on: Sunday 08 April 18 01:07 BST (UK) »
Hoping someone may be able to assist.

I am searching for Patrick Gearon and his wife Mary Quinlan, who I believe were living at 4 Rotherhithe Road, Bermondsey, London in 1889.

At this particular time, their son Thomas was getting married (28 October 1889 in Belfast) - according to the St Patrick's Church Record of the marriage, it stated that the groom's parents lived at the above address.

I have no other information of Patrick or Mary and would really appreciate anything at all - I do not know dates of birth (their son Thomas was born in 1868).

Thanks so much.

Is this Patrick and Mary in 1861 at St Giles, London

Patrick Gearin    32    Ireland  (tailor)
Mary Gearin    26    Marylebone,
Ellen Gearin  (Mother)    63    Ireland

RG09/170 / 26 pg 9

and in 1891 at Shoreditch as a patient

Patrick Gearin     64     Ireland   (tailor) - though it says single?
RG12/255/ 188 pg 19

May not be yours, as there might be others of the same name. Do you have any more details, like profession?

Hello,

Here is the civil marriage. Patrick is a Bricklayer and Thomas is a soldier.

Thank you maddys52, will keep everything crossed that this is the couple we are searching for.

Thank you heywood, that's the marriage of their son Thomas.  It certainly shows that Patrick was a Bricklayer - would it be a bit of a jump to go from a bricklayer to a tailor?
