As Annah Crawley is married to soldier called Crawley what are the chances of her maiden name being Crawley as well.

The entry for the marriage gave Hannah's father as Michaelis (Michael) Crawley. if you go back through the posts you will see the details.

Whilst looking for Crawley baptisms I found the following at St Johns cathedral RC, parents Michael Crawley and Ann nee Pellington

Ann 1855
Michael 1855
Thomas 1859
Marcus 1861

The family are in the 1861 Census RG09/639/F13/p22 transcribed as Crowly

But no sign of a Hannah born 1850

Well funny enough........Michael Crawley and Ann Pellington are my GGGG Grandparents, I come through down their daughter Ann's line - she did indeed marry Edward Brimecome (3rd July 1878).

Ann Pellington died 29th Sept 1905.

I cannot find a suitable Death record of her husband Michael Crawley. Anyone ??? Apart from the one in Portsea 1866....but that gives a Birth date of 1828....which I guess 'could' be correct.......what are the thoughts of the RootsChat Jury ???

Apologies in slightly de-railing the Thread. I saw it when I put 'Ann Pellington Northumberland' into Google.

I don't think that Hannah is one of theirs.....
