Harold Earnest Whitlam

My grandfather Harold Earnest Whitlam was born in Hull in 1919, he married my grandmother in Hull in 1939, while in the RAF. They divorced in 1957, he then married a Beatrice Hoad in 1957 in Cheltenham, and set up home in Prestbury, until her death in 1976, then he married Dilys Joppart in Cheltenham in 1977, he died in Prestbury in 1980.
I would like to find out if he is buried in the local cemetery, can anyone help or point me in the right direction or does anyone know anything about his life, I never met him and there are no photographs any information would be gratefully received, Thankyou.

They may ask for his actual date of death before they look or they may charge to search.

Did you know he was a twin?  His brother was Arthur E who died shortly after birth

Re: Dawn's reply re actual death date - it was 15.2.1980.  He didn't leave a will but administration was granted 29.5.1980 - he left £20,758

His parents were Peter Whitlam and Mary Elizabeth Buttrick who married in 1903 in Hull so there will be children born before Harold

GRO maiden name search shows Stanley Whitlam born 1906 (died 1959) and Rowland Lloyd Whitlam born 1909 (died 1968)

Rowland married Alice Rosindale in 1932 and they had 3 children.  Stanley married Mollie Lightowler in 1940 and had one child.

As those children could still be alive - their names cannot be given here

The Whitlam family are on the 1911 which can be viewed on Family Search.  The link below also shows the 1891 entry for Peter
