She could not come so Mrs R came with me instead to Hendon Police Court.

Perhaps she was summonsed to attend as a witness (when she nearly got run over)

That must be it as she hasn't mentioned anything else has she? She didn't say a lot about nearly getting run over did she, just a casual remark? I wonder why her parents didn't go with her?

I am wondering if Mr Rothburg was a solicitor, or some such pillar of society, since suddenly in this period, she is going there most evenings.  I just imagined her heart dropping when she found that Mrs Rothburg couldn't go to court with her.  So another Mrs R went instead.  Yes I agree, RT, she might not have told them.  Or she might not have wanted them there.

I think Morris is a lost cause now - he seems to be adopting evasive tactics, ducking and weaving and hiding in the undergrowth. ;D

Good morning GS and RT. The mention of court is indeed intriguing - Here are the pages for 10 Nov to 7 Dec. We wait with baited breath.

I am still working on the friends list.

Morning LS,

If you are happy to let one of us know by PM the name of your mother, we might be able to find some reference to her Court appearance in a local newspaper.

I am off out to the hairdressers shortly and will look in again later.

Morning LS and RT -  I'm off to the craft shop for the day.  Provided the wifi doesn't go on the blink there, I'll welcome doing a bit of transcription between customers!

Most of it is longhand, some of which I can't read!

Jackie and Reg possibly coming to tea.  Did actually go to church.  Had a very nice time.  Had an open invitation.
