Robina Walker Jardine
« on: Monday 09 April 18 11:24 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to trace the burial plot of my Great Grandmother born Robina Walker Jardine 1905 in Glasgow.  I know she died December 17th 1935, aged 30 with her married name Robina Walker Liggett in Hillhead Glasgow, but I have been unable to find where she is buried if anyone can help?

Thank you
Christine

Hi

The death is registered in both surnames, Liggett and Jardine.

Try buried as Jardine?

Hi thank you for your replies

I have the death certificate for Robina and it says the district of Hillhead in Glasgow but not where she was buried?

I will look into Robina Jardine Liggett

Thank you
Christine

Hi still no joy in tracing where my Great Grandmother is buried.  I have also emailed Glasgow Council but they haven't got back to me.  Any help would be very much appreciated

Thank you
Christine

The lair records for Glasgow Cemeteries are no longer held by Glasgow City Council - they are currently held by the Mitchell Library in Glasgow - a fee is charged for a search of these (fee varies depending upon amount of work involved).

When she died in Hillhead was she living in that area ? - if so the Western Necropolis may be a starting point.

Added _ just checked the Memento-mori site who have photographed the stones in the Western - no listing under either surname  which is disappointing as either there is no stone or she is not buried there.

As an afterthought - what religion did she or the family practice ?

Kate B posted details on this some days ago...a labour of love to go through them all but you never know.
