How can I download data large enough to read ?

Hello Rootschatters

I need to download some workhouse records from FindMyPast. I need the actual images, not just the transcriptions.

I have done this several, nay, many times, but it is very difficult to read.
How can I enlarge the pages required to normal size please?

My computer is a Lenovo G50, and my printer a HP Envy 5530.

Failing this, do you think that if I contacted the Library who hold The Workhouse Archives ( Manchester) reproduce them for me.

It is quite important that I have the information in these images, in a readable form.

In easy words please, I am a thicky, technically

Very difficult to comment without seeing the images you are trying to access.

I would suggest the best way to do it is to read the images on your computer's monitor rather than trying to print the images.
A printer requires a higher resolution than a monitor.

If you need a printout try opening the image in a graphics program such as Photoshop and increasing the "image size" by doubling the resolution setting.

If you could say which particular records you are looking at maybe someone could look to see if there was a particular problem with the one's you are looking at. I have just downloaded a Manchester workhouse image and it is fine.

I've just downloaded a page and it's fine.  Are you downloading and then printing or are you printing from the print icon? Does it look OK on your screen?

It could be a problem with the specific record. As Simon says, if you let us know which record. we could check if it's that or your machines.

I have a Lenovo G505 and the same printer as you JeannieR.

Sometimes if the print looks too small I download it to my desktop first then edit it to make it larger, save the edited version and then print.

Not very techno minded either.

As already said very difficult to comment without seeing the images you are trying to access

Are you using the download button in the bottom right of the screen, or using a screen grab?
