Thank you just the same Sandra. People contributing ideas or possibilities just might come up with the gold nugget!
I am still trying to find Ellen's death after probably 1943 when Mary died but so far no luck...

She may have died before Mary but we do know she was alive in September 1939 when the pre war register was canvassed

Mmmm, didn't think about that! But are there any Electoral records that would follow her up? How do people otherwise find living ancestors?
Thanks Rosie

I'm still looking for Ellen's death. On Freebmd the possibilities if the age is correct are:
Mar 1941 Epping if she died before Mary
Dec '43 Sittingbourne (Kent)?; June '46 Ipswich; March '51 Wellington. Are any of these places near Christchurch in the south? I found three Christchurches - and guess the one where they lived was near Bournemouth.
Oh Sigh Carol

Thank you,    :)

It was only because I was checking Carol's selection of 4 possibilities.  It was the surname Berriman that clinched it and I had hoped that as she had been a teacher she would have left a will  ;D

Rosie99 you are just fantastic and I am so delighted to have found her! I wondered if she had had contact with the family but where to start - tricky at the moment for me as school hols and grand-daughter is here. Thank you so much.
YAY!! Carol
