WW2 London-Scottish
« on: Tuesday 10 April 18 14:40 BST (UK) »
One of my Grandfathers ended up in the London Scottish Regiment during WW2, he served in North Africa, Palestine and then Italy. He was Batman to a 'Captain Rowan-Robinson', he always referred to him as 'Crow'! From memory he had been awarded the MC?

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

That's the chap, I have some lovely photos of him in Palestine and North Africa. My Grandfather was very fond of him.

I have since found another photo of him.
Also, I have my Grandfathers London-Scottish uniform and sporron which first belonged to Rowen-Robinson has his name stamped on it.

He was in the 5/7th Battalion of the Gordon Highlanders when he received his MC. I have a copy of the citation but I'm not allowed to share it on this forum.

Perhaps the uniform should end up in a museum eventually?
