Offords of Islington pre 1946

I am looking for any connection or information on the Offord family in Islington pre 1946. the late Carol Offord was born in 1946 . Her mother maiden name was O shea. We very little of the family identity and would like to find some history , Thank you Fred

If you look on FreeBMD you will see an O'shea/Offord marriage in Dec 1/4 1945 registration district Islington.
The bride is also listed with the surname Rosengarten.
I think you are going to need the marriage certificate because there are about 4 possible births of Charles W Offords which would fit the bill and even though I fancy the ones in 1923 there are two to choose from. But one is in Kent and the other Fulham reg dist which has the mother's maiden name Knight.

I have no proof that this is the person you are looking for so as I said previously you need to buy the marriage certificate

The Charles W Offord born Fulham seems to remain in Fulham per electoral rolls and was married to a Joan (1943 Fulham).

The late Carol was the 2nd of 4 siblings and actually born 1947.

Elizabeth O'Shea married David Rosegarten Dec.1940 Finsbury - 2 daughters (1942 and 1944).   Since both her surnames shown when she married Charles W. Offord in 1945 presumably they were divorced.

4 children born to Charles and Elizabeth - son 1946 (d.1947), daughter Carol A. 1947 (now deceased), daughter 1949 and son 1953.

Do you know where/when Charles and Elizabeth died?   

They last appear on Islington electoral rolls until 1961 living at 155 Englefield Road.

However, all we have are names and no idea of where or when either of them were born.

As has already been suggested, you will need to get their marriage certificate to ascertain their ages, names of fathers, where they were living in the hope that their births can be identified.   

At the moment, it does not look like either of them was local to the Islington area.

date of birth 28 June 1916

Birth registration in Caherciveen district, Kerry, of Elizabeth Shea, born 28 June 1916, parents Denis and Ellen (nee Hussey). Possibly both parents dead by 1937.

But the Charles William Offord (born 1911) who died in Somerset in 1991 seems to have been married to Gwendoline Gladys May, who died 1997 (are together in Ilford on the free index to 1939 Register)
