That was a marriage which they quoted - not the death of Alexander.
SCOTT    Alexander        Mutford    4a   2354 - Dec 1906
OGSTON    Joanna        Mutford    4a   2354    - Dec 1906
But that so-called 'tree' does give 5 December 1906 as Alexander's death date as well as his marriage date. Just reinforces the golden rule: Never trust anything you find online unless it's an image of an original document; and even then be wary.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
