Hendrick, Brockington, Cloney & Edwards
« on: Thursday 12 April 18 10:57 BST (UK) »
I'm looking at trying to prove these surnames are connected through marriage in my family history.

I have an initial Hendrick (male) marrying a female (Brockington).  If correct it occurred in Sep 1928 in Devon.

It appears they had 4 girls 2 of whom died & the other 2 marrying into the surnames of Cloney & Edwards.

I need to prove this first marriage surname of Hendrick is the correct one - it is looking highly likely from what I've been able to access.

The Hendrick first name is Walter born in 1899 Waterford, Ireland.

Is there anyone that could shed any light on any of these names for me to rule them in or out of my family history.

I can supply more information if required.  I was just being cautious as it is under the 100 year rule.

I look forward to seeing any results.

I’m not sure quite what you are asking.

Are you trying to confirm that the Hendrick women who married Mr Cloney and Mr Edwards were daughters of the 1928 Hendrick-Brockington marriage?

So long as you don’t give details of living people you are free to be clear about names etc.

Yes, I want to confirm that BUT, I need to FIRST confirm that the original Hendrick-Brockington marriage is the correct Hendrick.  I can't quite find enough information.  It's looking highly likely.

Only one of the daughters, Sheila, died in infancy.

The eldest daughter D married in Haverfordwest in 1957 to a Mr Thomas.  Records suggest she is probably deceased but I can’t immediately find it.

Have a look for him/them in the 1939 Register on Findmypast for a birthdate match.

I have his birth in Waterford, Ireland in 1899 if it's the correct Hendrick.  I need to know either of his parents names to confirm it.  I have their details.

Who is the "correct" Hendrick, and what do you know about them?
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

As I say you can seek to confirm an exact birthdate match by looking at the 1939 Register, and for a match with paternal details you would need to order the marriage certificate.
