Christina Ross

Christina Ross was born on 29 December 1923 at Balloan Farm, Culduthel, Inverness. Her father was Donald Ross married to Catherine MacLean on 5 May 1922 in Croy, Inverness. Any information on Donald Ross and ancestors would be appreciated as I have hit a brick wall. JC.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat :)

To start you off - On his marriage, Donald was given as aged 19 (so born circa 1903)  and a ploughman, living at Altnacardoch, Kirkhill.  His parents were John Ross, crofter and Christina, Maiden Surname Hunter

Welcome from me too!

Not seeing a marriage for Christina/Christian/Kirsty or similar to a John Ross.

I only used surnames & all areas in my search to cover all possibilities.

They may have married outside Scotland or didn't marry?

1911 shows an abundance of John Ross' in Inverness...needle in a haystack for now.

However, there's this death which could fit?...

HUNTER CHRISTINA 67
1945
387/ 97 Perth

ROSS CHRISTINA 67
1945
387/ 97
Perth

This would put her birth year approx. 1878 i.e. possible to be the mother of Donald?

I'm wondering if Christina's son in law got mixed up with her father's name:
