As the others have said - parents appear to be John & Mary E Down.

They are on the 1871 census with an Eliza L Dunn born c1866.

Eliza subsequently said she was born Bromley, Middx. I think this is Bromley St Leonards, which is where the family are in 1871.

Bromley was referenced so this makes sense and is likely. Both Parent names is great as i'll see if they can generate Family Search citations of their childrens birth details.

Also there is NO Eliza Elizabeth Down listed on the General Register Office Birth Index. Maybe she didn't have a middle name of Elizabeth.

Yes, I couldn't locate on GRO (her birth) nor FreeBMD. They have reference to her Death details but not Birth. I was stuck :)

Yes John Down married Mary Elizabeth Burgess 1863 in Bethnal Green -- London marriages on ancestry. His father William Down. Her father John Burgess.

This GRO reference may now prove to be right.

I've seen it and discounted it before, as death GRO has 'E' as middle name and I had seen the 1901 census which quotes Eliza E as wife.

Seeing the attached image of the 1871 though = it could be an 'L' as middle initial.

That confirms the GRO then as Eliza 'L'.

Could a look be taken at the 1901 census to see if 'E' is someones version by sight of our 'L' thoughts ??

She is just listed as ELIZA on the 1901.
