1851 census (staffordshire) https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGG8-H7T

https://www.isle-of-wight-fhs.co.uk/ would be the go-to place.
I'll have a scout around on there

It doesn't appear that the records are likely to be online, and I cannot see the surname mentioned elsewhere for that era in baptisms.

http://www.isle-of-wight-fhs.co.uk/index.php (to search on the surname)
All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

On FreeReg there is a baptism of Daniel RIDGELY at Holy Cross Binstead on 28 Dec 1806, parents John and Jane - a possibility? (Not too far from Wootten Bridge.)

Modified to add:
There is a marriage of John RIDGELY to Jane WOODNUTT on 12 July 1798 at St Edmund, Wootton.
And various other children baptised to them all at Binstead:
5 May 1799   William
3 Apr 1803   Harriett
19 May 1805  Mary

John RIDGLEY (husband of Jane) buried at Wootton 13 Dec 1808

I found these burials but it looks like it was Jane who was buried in 1808 :-\

and John in 1849,

My apologies, I mis read the entry - I thought it was unusual to put the wife's name on a burial entry!

However, looking further, I found a burial for Daniel (son of John and Jane) on 28 Dec 1806 at Binstead (the same day of the baptism?) on familysearch. So not sure now ...  :-\

Thank you both the baptism you gave me fits with the demise of Daniel Ridgley on 20.12.1868 aged 63 in West Bromwich. Also the names of the children are family names passed down especially the Harriet.  He named his first daughter Jane, he also named one of his daughter's Harriet.  He only had daughter's two of whom had children without being married.  One of his daughter's named her first son Daniel and the second one John possibly after her dad and her grandfather?

Could family search have got it wrong and listed it in both places? I have in the past found several errors.

Is there anyway I can get the register at Binstead checked?

John and Jane Ridgley were both buried at Wootton and I have checked both Binstead and Wootton and can't find a burial on the Isle of Wight site on the links given me ???

I don't know were I go from here any additional help would be gratefully received.

Thanks everyone

Eileen

You could try contacting the IOW Record Office,

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01lx1/

They have a names index of baptisms, marriages and burials , this would mean that they could look for Daniel and see if he had a baptism and burial in  1806. I've found that they are very helpful if you call them with the details of what you are looking for and they will do a quick search for free :)

Thank you for all your help.

I have been in touch with the Isle of Wight records office and there is a baptism for Daniel Ridgley on the 28.12.1806 and there isn't a record of burial so the LDS is incorrect.  So this is my Daniel Ridgley and he died in West Bromwich 20.12.1868.
