John Shaw m Harriet Copley
« on: Tuesday 17 April 18 21:51 BST (UK) »
Looking for any information on John Shaw married May 1823 to Harriet Copley in Selby. Record shows he was aged 45 and Harriet was 21. Anyone with access to the marriage record may be able to help with his father's name. Harriet was born 22/6/1802 in Selby but cannot trace John Shaw. Harriet remarried in 1839 to John Wilson but again I cannot trace any death of John.

There is a burial in Selby for John Shaw on 19 February 1839 - aged 60, which is almost right.

The witnesses to the marriage in 1823 were Ann Murfitt and John Copley - so not much help.

Sorry for the confusion but the marriage was at Saint Olave, York possibly Apr-Jun. Hope that helps :(

Thank you all for the information  :D. I think I may have stumbled upon the baptism of John Shaw. Baptized 17 September 1778 parents Henry Shaw and Hannah. Looks positive as John and Harriet called there two children Henry born 1824 and Elizabeth Hannah born 1827.
