James Dunn 1897

Hi there I am trying to find the correct birth record and mothers maiden for a James Dunn who was born in sunderland 1897. On the 1939 register it states his birth date is 8 feb 1897. I found a james simpson dunn with this birth date but the mothers maiden name doesnt match the rest of siblings some of whom have mothers maiden name as Groves.
I also found a birth in sunderland in 1898 but mothers maiden name is Evans.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

i was going to purchase the marriage certificate to get parents names but realise only fathers names would be on there.

James Dunn married Emma Ireland in Hartlepool in 1918

With the father's name from the Marriage Certificate, you could find them on the 1911 census.

On another track, this is the best fit for the parents marriage (from FreeBMD):

In 1911 the father is Mr. Dunn at 34 Emma Street same occupation, same children, although he signs as Mr. J Dunn

Found all the children except James with mothers maiden name Groves

There is a burial of James Simpson Dunn at South Hetton Holy Trinity 9 Feb 1898, age 13 mo.  So that one is out.
