Blomfields of Norfolk or Suffolk
« on: Wednesday 18 April 18 09:35 BST (UK) »
Hi i'm trying to find some info on a Richard Blomfield who died in Bressingham in 1789.
He married Sarah Hall in 1762 Bressingham. His first wife Elizabeth died 1760 Bressingham.
I'm trying to find out were he was born about 1721 but where.
I have him down for Bressingham but can't find any births for any Blomfields about that time.
Also can't find any marriage for a Richard and Elizabeth.
Any help would be great

Thanks Lawrence

I know this is a bit of a long shot but what if the age at burial was unclear or transcribed wrongly and he died age 88, if so there is the following on Freereg.

Richard Blomfield baptised the same day as his brother Henry 28 Feb 1701/2, St John the Baptist, Bressingham, Norfolk, father Henry.

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

I am wondering if your Blomfields are related to the Blomfields of Stonham Aspal, Woolpit and the surrounding area.  There are many threads on the Suffolk board here - a while back now - relating to the Blomfields and their descent from the Norman de Blunvilles.   I notice that the distance between Stonham Aspal and Bressingham is less than 20 miles so it is quite possible we're talking about the same family here.

Kindest regards
