John Lavery - died in Hamilton in 1882
« on: Wednesday 18 April 18 19:10 BST (UK) »
Hi there

I've just used up another expensive load of Credits on SP  :'(  so I'm hoping someone over there in Hamilton may have the Register of Death 1882/647/5 for John Lavery age 59 (i.e. born abt. 1823) to save me from buying more at the moment!

Help  :'(

Not sure it's the one you want - single, no details of parents. Died Combination Poorhouse, Hamilton

Hi Gadget

Thanks for looking ... sadly, it's not the John I was hoping for.  The one in question was married to Helen McLaren who were the parents of Mary who, you'll recall, died in the Asylum in Larbert in 1898.

Ah well, the search goes on  ::)

Helen, his wife, is showing as married to John Lavery when she died in 1884, so he must have died later than that.

Was there any sign of him at all on the 1891?

I couldn't find him.

I'm wondering if he maybe went back to Ireland after Helen died.

I got the death details for Helen from the owner of a tree on Ancestry - not the actual record.  Their search was done some years ago and only notes were taken  >:(

Will send Helen's DC.

I've been looking on the irish genealogy site - irishgenealogy.ie  but nothing has jumped out so far.

Pleased to help  :)

As I said, I have become quite fond of your Lavery/Law family. Such sad endings.

The Irish death certs don't have parent details  :(
