What about the Flemings?
« on: Friday 20 April 18 12:08 BST (UK) »
No-one has mentioned having Flemish ancestors, i.e. ancestors from modern-day Belgium and French Flanders, although the Flemings were coming over to Britain from the Norman Conquest onwards. There's a project under way at St. Andrews University to investigate the influence of Flemings on Scotland. Some say about a third of the Scottish population has Flemish ancestry, although this may be an over-estimate.

FTDNA originally said I had 32% West and Central Europe DNA, and that could have included the Flemings, but then they revised that to 33% Scandinavian, which certainly doesn't include Flemings.
