UK Medical Registers are only available from 1859. The Medical Act 1858 established the General Council of Medical Education and Registration of the United Kingdom

There's a Thos. Geo. Brook in the 1855 London and Provincial Medical Directory - is that him? Address Upper Clapton, London. "In practice prior to the Act of 1815".

yes I think that would be him as he signed 3 medical agreements with the the overseer of the poor at Bardfield, Essex. This was in 1805, 1811 and 1812 taken from the overseer of the poor account book. The overseer at Toppesfield has multiple entries chasing a Geo Brook(s), Surgeon/Doctor (it changes with different entries in the overseer of the poor accounts) for the maintenance of the baseborn child William Brook(s) Dowsett, son of Elizabeth Dowsett. WBD born Sep 1811 and taken into the congregation 26 Dec 1812. Thing is I have census entries for 1851 for Thomas Geo Brook (general medical practitioner) aged 68 and an entry in 1861 census for Thomas G Brook (surgeon) aged 68. So I am not sure if there is one or two T G Brook practicing in medicine. Is the same person with a 10 year error in age or are there two of them? So hence my query regarding the medical register. I do also have Lancet notifications of Thomas G Brook dieing in 1870 and an other retiring in 1872.Any help appreciated.
