When I look at the Victorian pioneer index showing marriages, I see this.

BELLINGER, John. Born Herfordshi (sic)
BOWDEN, Mary Ann.
1870/1286

On the list also I see a marriage for one Arthur BALLINGER to Sarah COZZENS in 1877

Can you clarify please that the surname of the bride was COUSINS or BOWDEN.

OR as you have not put a capital letter at the beginning of the name, I am not sure whether you simply mean they were cousins.
