Hi Keith

I have this lovely photo of my OH's Great Great Grandmother looking out of the window of her front room.  It was taken in 1909 on the day of her daughter's wedding.  Although it is a wedding day she appears to be wearing black, probably because she was still in mourning for her husband who died 10 months earlier.

What a lovely picture. She seems to have been fond of houseplants, judging by the number in the window.

There seems to be a taller lady standing behind her (on the left from our perspective), dressed in white. Was that her daughter?

Lighting inside would have been a problem, especially for a box brownie camera with a fixed aperture and time

Hi IJDisney, it is a lovely photo isn't it.  I had spotted the mystery lady lurking in the background, but I'm not sure who she is.

Here is a pic taken on the same day of the wedding group (I think in the back garden).  Lots of ladies in white.

I have a photo of my great grandparents and most of their children including my grandfather who was 6-7 yrs old taken outside their home and another of my great grandfather with his sons and male workers outside their home. I know both of the properties as they are still family owned farms, both I spent time in as a child.

I assumed it was taken by a traveling photographer as the homes are only about 3 miles away from each other in tiny rural hamlets

Great photo Youngtug, even if it is a little faded.  I love the gramophone.  What is she holding in her hands?

No idea. I think I may have mirrored the photo somehow.

Aha - lots of ladies in white. The body shape and long nose would tempt me to guess which one, but who can be sure? I hope you can identify all the people in such a nice photo. Families coming together for special occasions; we are lucky that photography got invented.

I have a couple of wedding groups from about the same time; the grooms were cousins of my grandfather, so I know them, their mother, sister and brother-in-law, but the rest are unknown. If you think about it, most weddings include random friends and relatives from both sides, that you don't know!
