How am I related to?
« on: Tuesday 24 April 18 13:34 BST (UK) »
Eight years ago I was contacted by a distant relation and we have been working on our family tree.  We are having a family party in a couple of weeks to which this relation and his cousin have been invited.  I am not sure how to describe how we are related.  We share the same great, great great Grandfather.  I know there is a chart somewhere on the site which explains all this that was posted some years ago but cannot seem to find it.  Can someone help me please.  Thanks.  Cathy  :)

You could look at Cousins & Kinship » Charts & Tables https://www.cyndislist.com/cousins/charts/?page=2

Thank you Stan for that Link.  If I have worked it out correctly we are 4th cousins.   :)

Yep !

A simple way of remembering is .....

Count the G's !

"We share the same great, great great Grandfather."

Thank you Bob.  I was not sure if my 4th cousin was 'removed' or not but he is not.   ;D

Hi  Bob. Just to let you know that I am keen to answer any queries regarding the Livingstone family. I have gained more information from the American government relating to William Livingstone, the son of Samuel Livingstone and his wife Jane Reid. Regards tommacgregor1936 formerly tommacgregor.
