HOLLAND -Marriage Circa 1945?
« on: Wednesday 25 April 18 06:46 BST (UK) »
Seeking information concerning the marriage of Paul HOTZ and Catharina Maria Sofia VREDENBREGT. One male child was known to have been born 21 March 1945 at The Hague, Netherlands.

Specifically seeking data which would reveal parents of both parties and siblings of known child (now deceased).

I'm not sure that such recent records are available - most countries put a block on records less than 100 years old?
Certainly, any births will be blocked.

You could try www.wiewaswie.nl/en?

I did a quick search for Catharina & Paul:
Latest death was 1956
Latest marriage was 1931
Latest birth was 1914

The closest I could get:
Among the “huwelijksafkondigingen” (public notices of marriage) in the newspaper “Haagsche courant” dated 17-10-1942 were “P Hotz en CMS Vredenbregt”
https://www.delpher.nl/nl/kranten/view?coll=ddd&identifier=ddd:110528583:mpeg21:a0083
(==> The marriage would probably have taken place around Oct/Nov 1942)

Although Dutch marriages become publicly available after 75 years, it can take a while before the documents appear online. And, some archives are more up-to-date than others.

Sylvia

This family card seems to contain a good possibility for Catharina, her parents and siblings:

This is the marriage of the parents. Catharina seems to have been named after her fathers mother

I tried, and failed, to find the time limits on WieWasWie?

Current law:
Births - 100 years
Marriages - 75 years
Deaths - 50 years

But of course this does not mean that the various archives will actually put these documents online immediately when they are allowed to .... Many of the archives will put blocks of data online (I believe it's something like 5 or 10 years ...), but some other archives might hold back even longer for whatever reasons.

I've just noticed the couple's 1953 emigration to WA and yes their DOBs are the same as the DOBs on their family cards. So now you've got the correct parents and grandparents ...

And, there are 3 sons mentioned on their emigration record ... (but privacy prevents me from mentioning them here)

PS I realised that I could have freely mentioned Catharina's and Paul's DOB's as they are both deceased.
