Fairly central then.  Surprised then that the alleged pre-marriage baptism was not also at St Thomass.

I wonder if the Family Story has got slightly contorted, and he was Confirmed prior to his marriage, rather than baptised.

Yes, that's certainly possible. Then it's anyone's guess where he would have been baptised; his family moved around a bit too.

McGregor family of Fodderty - ends with Alexander McGregor (b. 1765, Fodderty), son of Murdoch McGregor and Kate Stewart
