Looking for Hannah
« on: Friday 27 April 18 00:56 BST (UK) »
I have Hannah Rogers b. 1850 Ireland immigrated 1889 residing in 1920 Census Providence Ward 3 Providence Rhode Island mother in law. Daughter Ellen Quirh (should be Quirk) Others Head Michael Quirch, son in law, Raymond, James, Margaret David H, William J.

Cannot locate immigration record which I think would be to Boston - No death record found.

Thank you for any help.

On the declaration of Intention for the daughter Ellen Rogers - she immigrated from Queenstown Ireland to Boston on the SS Cephalonia in April 1891.

There is a Massachusetts Passenger List with Ellen Rogers aged 19 years listed Queenstown Ireland to Boston MA on the ship Cephalonia - arrival date:   27 Apr 1891 - servant.  No Hannah listed with her though.

A New York Passenger List with a Hannah Roogers born 1850 Ireland and aged 40 years and married but no other Roogers/Rogers travelling with her - arriving 26 August 1889 - on the Bothnia.  ???
Little information on those earlier passenger lists.

John Rogers married Johanna Keefe (as transcribed)  - 22 Oct 1871 - Cloyne Cork Ireland.

Sandra
Thank you Sandra the Rogers have proved very elusive to me in Ireland until I discovered Hannah in 1920 in RI.
I had the marriage in 1871 & birth of Ellen in 1872 also birth of a son Michael in 1875.
The only record I found for a John Rogers was a death in 1876 age 27 but no image so cannot verify without sending for cert. I suppose if this John was Hannahs husband the children were very young & maybe she didnt immigrate until later in life when Ellen was already in RI.  Cannot find evidence of son Michael 1875 having immigrated. :)
