Possible marriage for Elizabeth Smith (full age) at Hanley 9 February 1847 to Anthony Keeling.
Her father is named as James Smith occ Tobacconist.  That occupation would tie in with the 1861 family where John Keen is a Tobacco Manufacturer

A James Smith was a witness to the marriage

ADDED She is still in England in 1891 living with Catherine & Richard Ellis (Catherine Smith married Richard Ellis in 1864.)

Thank you for this info to follow up on.. I'm still hoping that my Elizabeth Smith is the one from the 1841 Census because ... one... Catherine (Smith) Ellis is not with the family in the 1841 Census so the Elizabeth from 1891 may be with her in that one.. and the 1891 Census shows that Elizabeth as being born in 1823 where all of the other people from the 1841 Census have been found to have correct ages and Elizabeth Smith is shown as born about 1826... I'm still hopeful but I won't cross anything out. Elizabeth Smith in England is like a needle in a haystack so that family could have had 20 of them all around the same ages.

Thank you very much for your help on this family... I guess I'll have to give up my hopes of ever finding my Elizabeth Smith... only ancestor I have from England and she just has to have a name like that with no records found to follow.  :(
