Stetchworth churchyard
« on: Friday 27 April 18 15:58 BST (UK) »
Hello !

Is anyone local to Stetchworth ? I have a transcript of the parish records up until 1950 but the book of burials from 1886 onwards was stolen from the church.

I know that Elijah JAGGARD and his wife Betsey were living there in 1891. Betsey died in 1900 and Elijah was still living there in 1901 and 1911. Elijah died in 1916.

I suspect that they are both buried in the churchyard and would like to know if I am right and if there is a gravestone. If so, can anyone tell me what it says ?

Thanks,

Heatha

A Betsy Jaggard aged 83 was buried at Cottenham All Saints on 22.3.1900 but suspect yours was the 65yr old in the same qtr - RD Newmarket

Hello Heatha

Elizah and Betsy Jaggard are not listed in the transcript of M.I's for Stetchworth St. Peter.

Thank you Selina. I have already searched all the most likely places. Now I am going to have to cast the net a little wider !!!! Unless, of course, the graves are unmarked.
