Reason For Army Discharge
« on: Saturday 28 April 18 09:19 BST (UK) »
My great grandfather enlisted in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers (TA) in July 1920 and was discharged on 31 December 1932, but I can't read the reason for discharge (I have the discharge document, but that only gives a date and not a reason).
It's the second one down, with the yellow box round it, on the attached image. I haven't included the entire document because it's written in different hands.

Thanks in advance.

Yes    'Struck off strength'.

That was stated when my grandfather left the army after the war. (to come home and look after his father).

Was he a Lieutenant Colonel?    I think it says L/C

If he was a major, he was possibly retired as L/C  (as was my g-father)

I would think lance corporal - he was a private when my grandmother was born in 1921.
