Agnes Coope
« on: Saturday 28 April 18 16:46 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find out any information on Agnes Coope before she married Henry Swift (1964-1947).

I think she was born in 1864 in Rotherham and died Dec 1941 in Rotherham.

I can find her in the 1901 Census as relation to head as wife and living in Chapeltown and Hesley Bar. The husband is not on the census but two daughters are that have different surnames.

Thanks in advance

George Coope dies December quarter 1901 - Wortley Registration District - aged 44.

Possible marriage - Rotherham Registration District - December 1897 - George Coope and Agnes Moxon appear on the same page.

The children all have mmn Goddard, so either Agnes was a Goddard or she was his second wife if she was a Moxon

1911 shows the family, with marriage between Henry and Agnes = 5 years, no children.  Then 5 children with surname Swift - aged 21 (married  daughter) to 7 years.

I think you possibly need to purchase the marriage certificate to have a clearer picture.

I think first wife was Kate Goddard who died Q3 1896 as Kate Coope, which would fit with George remarrying the following year.

A remote possibility:

Baptism - Thorpe Hesley - WRY

Agnes daughter of William (Miner) and Elizabeth Moxon - born 30 July 1863, baptised (with siblings) 23 September 1870.
