henry hall lambeth
« on: Saturday 28 April 18 20:09 BST (UK) »
im after some help please or thoughts
I am helping my cousin with her tree, her dad was adopted sadly he died a couple years ago, I have managed to find who his birth mum was - Annie elthel l Hall 1908 Lambeth,  and trace a living 2nd cousin.
Annies parents were annie Eleanor Reynolds and henry hall and its this chap im stuck on. I have him on the 1911 census where he states he is 24 and born Lambeth. he was married in 1907, I don't have that cert but I have spoke to the living descendant who has said the father is a harry Hall and a kilnman at pottery.
He told me that his dad Leonard b 1930 which is (Annie e l's brother and has now passed) told him that his dad (henry)died when he was born so didn't know him and that he (henry)was an orphan and bought up in a children's home and never new his parents .
So im stuck, its confusing but I don't see how henry could of put it on the marriage cert if he did not know his dad and any information is 2nd hand because the dads passing so young.
There are a couple possible births but how do I rule in or out?
Annie E L -> Henry hall -> possible Harry Hall??? (just cos i'm not sure I explained it too well)

the 1911 census Registration district:

Registration District Number:

Household Members:

The marriage took place in lambeth in 1908.
It might make it easier for someone with access to the marriage indexes to help you.

A tree on Ancestry states Henry and Annie married 1/8/1908 Lambeth Register Office - if it did indeed take place in a register office then details won't be available online.  The tree does state his father was named Harry.

You'll need to purchase a copy of the marriage certificate to confirm details, his address, his father and his occupation, plus whether either of witnesses were related which might help to identify him.

At the moment, the most likely Henry to me is one b.1886 to a Henry Hall and Bridget Riley (married 1883).

Hello
Henry is on the 1931 Electoral Register at 31 Henry St but the family are still there in 1932 and he is not.
So he must be the Henry C Hall  death Sep 1932 age 43 in Lambeth.
He's the only death in London for a Henry Hall 1930-1933 around that age.

But he's not the one born in 1888 in Lambeth as his father is James George Hall and he doesn't marry until 1917.

fab thank you ciderdrinker, I have followed the family through the Electoral Register but annoyingly I could not find between 1928 and 1932 which was those crucial years!
that death does give a middle initial so I will see what I can find from that.
thank you
