Please help me: find Bridget GRIFFITH's parents

- Mary Ann (c. 1869 Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire),
Rosina (c. 1874 Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire) and
Jane GRIFFITHS (c. 1876 Llandilofawr, Carmarthenshire)

Bridget is 5 years old in this census and William John is 1.

A lack of Mothers sirname suggests that Bridget was born to an illegitimate mother.

I wonder if William and Bridget GRIFFITHS had a son before they had Mary, Rosina and Jane. Could Bridget (b. 1886) be the daughter of an unknown son?


The family I am doing the tree for says that Brigets mothers name is Jemima. They don't know her sirname.

There are two William John Griffiths born in Llandilofawr in 1889, one in the June quarter and one in the September, neither gives the maiden name of the mother. It looks as if both Bridget and William were illegitimate. Your only hope would be to find a baptism or buy the certificate.

You mentioned a Jemima, William and Bridget have a daughter Jemima b c1868 with them in 1871. She's on 1881 and 1891 as a servant in other households

I wonder if this is related?
