Thank you. I see regular searches quite often these days. My own family tree has revealed a few secrets too.
My great grandad on my Mum's side had a first wife & daughter. We never, ever knew & after the wife died, the daughter went to live with her aunts. My great grandad married my great gran (also his first cousin) & that's where the daughter's existence is carefully erased, especially after my great grandad died. He was relatively young, but damaged from WW1.
When my nan died, we were contacted by the daughter's grandson. He even had a photo of my great gran, the daughter & my grandad! I knew my great gran was quite cunning & a relatively nasty person, but that little girl had just her dad & once he'd gone she lost her half brother too.
