Thanks! Unfortunately I have nothing on James Winch or any baptism for Caroline. Nor do I have baptisms for Richard's parents.

There is a Caroline Winch in High Street, Uxbridge in 1851
Caroline Winch   -Servant -   Unmarried   age 20 born Cook Howe, Essex,
HO107/1697 f303 p49

Does she match the information you have on later census

Think it's the right one Rose but it should read born Essex Bow

High street Uxbridge 1851 census

Joseph Shoppee ? With wife Phoebe and children williliam ,Lucy and Charles

Caroline Winch 20 Cook born Essex Bow

There is a Sarah Winch underneath her on the census 23 house servant born Slough Bucks , not sure if this is a mistake or relative?

Yes, that's the only census record she ever occurs on. I've always hypothesised that she was related to the other Winch. And yes, she gives her birthplace as Bow or just London on future censuses. No baptism or 1841 record has ever been found. Her date of birth appears to be somewhere between 1829 and 1831.
